The Uniform Electronic Transactions Act is a model state law first published in 1999.
Where adopted, it generally provides that a record or signature may not be denied legal effect or enforceability solely because it is in electronic form, and that a contract may not be denied legal effect solely because an electronic record was used in its formation.
Adoption, amendments, and related rules vary by state. This page is an educational summary of a public model act. It is not legal advice and it does not describe this product.
